My mum is 51 but can easily pass for 30 – the secret to her looking young is a face washing routine that costs pennies

A 51-YEAR-OLD mum who looks 20 years younger has divulged the cleansing routine that she’s sworn by for the last quarter of a century.
Aylen Park’s mum follows a simple two-step method to wash her face - and even has a hack to get the most out of any cleanser.
The method is so failsafe that the mum-of-one has been using it for over 25 years, leading people to believe she’s decades younger than her real age.
Taking to Instagram, content creator Aylen revealed that her mum double cleanses every single night.
Double cleansing is the process of washing your face twice, and is hailed as a super effective way to remove all traces of make-up, impurities and pollutants from the skin.
“My mum has been double cleansing for over 25 years,” Aylen said.
“If you wear make-up and sunscreen every single day, then this is something that you have to do.”
An oil cleanse is the first step of the routine, followed by a "gentle" gel or creamy cleanser.
Aylen’s mum currently uses the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Light Cleansing Oil, a Korean product that will set you back £21 for 200ml.
However, she is also “loyal to” Bobbi Brown’s Soothing Cleansing Oil, which costs £42 for 200ml.
“She’s been using the Bobbi Brown cleansing oil for over 25 years,” Aylen shared.
“But any other cleansing oil or cleansing balm should work for this.
“This step is super important if you really want to remove all your make-up, sunscreen and excess oils you built throughout the day.
“So that they don’t clog your pores throughout the night.
“I’m telling you: a usual face wash does not work well enough for this, so we always make sure to oil cleanse first.”
Aylen’s mum has a simple hack to make her oil cleanser work double-time.
She rubs a splash of water into her skin after applying the oil cleanser to emulsify it, thus stripping her skin of any greasy texture alongside the dirt it has just unclogged.
Once emulsified, you can wash off the oil-based cleanser and move onto the second cleanse.
Aylen’s mum is “not really picky with her cleansers” and just ensures it has a “gentle” formula.
In the duo’s most recent video, she used the Murad Essential-C Cleanser which costs £14 for 60ml.
“You can use any cleanser you like,” Aylen said.
“By doing this step, you’re making sure to remove all of the oil and make-up residue from your face.”
The content creator assured that double cleansing “shouldn’t take more than five minutes in total”, meaning it’s a totally do-able change to make in your evening routine.
Not only can inadequate cleansing contribute to spots, congested pores and dullness, but any deep-set dirt sitting in your pores can stop you from getting maximum benefits from your serums and moisturisers.
