‘Cleaning mad’ Mrs Hinch is the online sensation ‘changing lives’ with her hacks for immaculate homes – and she’s so obsessed with dirt-busting products she’s named her cloths
Sophie Hinchcliffe, 28, has shot to fame for her 'cleaning mad' Instagram account Mrs Hinch and has gained a 'Hinch Army' of devoted followers
WITH over 280,000 social media followers, 28-year-old Sophie Hinchcliffe (AKA online cleaning sensation "Mrs Hinch") is one of Instagram's most unlikely stars.
Having catapulted to online fame for fun and budget cleaning hacks, fans of the Essex housewife are claiming that the inspiring cleaning content has "changed" their "lives" and worked wonders for their mental health.

Speaking exclusively to Fabulous Online, Sophie revealed that she didn't go looking for online fame and only created the Mrs Hinch Home account two years ago to avoid "clogging up my personal Instagram and boring everyone with home pictures."
Along with her signature cleaning hacks, Sophie's stunning home interiors taste is often heralded as "home goals" by her "Hinch Army" of likeminded cleaning obsessesives.
During her "early to mid twenties", Sophie suffered with "anxiety and panic attacks" and discovered cleaning was her ultimate coping mechanism.
Sophie said: "I've always been a worrier. But whenever I felt like I might have a panic attack, I would then get up and grab a cloth or a mop or a hoover and just start going."

After all, no matter how overwhelmed you may be, "eventually you're just focusing on what you're doing instead of how you're feeling."
Having experienced firsthand the calming powers of cleaning, Sophie would work through a to-do list of chores and found that "getting through them was so rewarding."
"Because by the end, I felt like I had done what I set out to do and had achieved something."
And it's precisely this positive attitude which has inspired her followers to overhaul their cleaning habits and evaluate their mental health.
Sophie added: "I thought personally it was just me but I never realised how many men and women out there suffer with anxiety. They’ve all said that this has helped them beyond belief."

But above all, there's one simple chore that Mrs Hinch can't go to sleep at night without completing... and she's even convinced her "Hinch Army" to follow suit.
Although "putting the sink to bed" simply "started as joke" among Sophie and her followers, the daily nighttime routine has now spiralled into a regimental end of the day step which has brought them "all closer".
But what does "putting the sink to bed" actually entail?
Sophie revealed that night-after-night her and her thousands of followers "do all the washing up, spray the sink so it's clean and make sure that all the clothes are put together and settled."
And while Sophie admits that it "sounds silly", the nightly routine works wonders for both her and her followers' mental health.
She added: "We make sure that everything is all set nicely so we can wake up feeling better. It sounds silly but it works amazing and people wake up feeling refreshed."

What's more, the former hairdresser also revealed that she has NAMES for each of her beloved cleaning cloths. Otherwise known as her "babies".
After a fan noticed that she was particularly "attached" to one cloth in particular, Sophie joked that she should start referring to the inanimate object as "buddy"... and so a favourite cleaning cloth was born.
Along with "minkeh" the Minky cloth, Sophie has also started another online cleaning phenomenon in how she stores her utensils... known online as her very own "Narnia".
Sophie said: "“I have created a wardrobe in my garage for cleaning products to go into because they were taking up too much. My partner said one night that 'it’s like another world in there.'"
She added: "Before you know it, everyone is showing me their 'Narnias' every single day and are so excited to have things looking clean and organised."

But although Sophie boasts a tidy home worthy of internet fame, she wasn't always the devoted cleaner she is now.
Like many make-up obsessed teenage girls, Sophie revealed: "My bedroom was always a state, there was always mascara on the carpets, my mum and dad would go crazy about it.
"My mum has always been very organised, very tidy and very very house proud. So when I was brought up, I’d always have to make sure my room was clean and tidy. However, it never was. My Dad brought it up in his speech at my wedding.
"It’s only now that I’ve got my own home that I understand and can see why..."

As a newly-wedded wife to sales manager husband Jamie, 39, Sophie "is really looking forward" to having children as a means of bonding with her followers who are mothers.
Reflecting on how her house is bound to change with the addition of some "mini Hinches", Sophie said: "I can’t see my house being as tidy as it is now but it will be staying clean.
"I’d rather have a bit of a messier house than not have kids because it is my dream.”

But as for her unexpected internet success? Sophie still remains "overwhelmed" by the response she's had.
After all, "cleaning has always been there. Everyone has always done it.
It’s not like I’ve invented something new. But I’ve put a spin on it where it’s not boring any more."
And if you ask us, you haven't lived until you've seen Sophie wiping her sink to the sound of Drake's "In My Feelings"... it's cleaning comedy gold.
