GREGGS' vegan sausage rolls have been sending shoppers into a frenzy since their launch earlier this month.
Two-day old pastries are being offered for £8 on eBay and they've sparked viral videos on Twitter - but what's really in them?
The sausage rolls consist of faux meat in dairy-free pastry, with the "meat" being made from the same fungus as Quorn.
According to the , they contain fewer calories (311 versus 327), less fat (19g compared to 22g) and more protein (12g versus 9.4g) than their pork counterparts.
But both have more calories than a McDonald's cheeseburger, which contains 301.
The vegan sausage rolls are six millimetres longer than their pork equivalent, which Greggs says adds up to 10 "mega-bites".
On the flip side, there's more salt in the vegan roll (1.9g versus 1.6g).
It also includes nearly a gram of sugar, while the original has none.
The vegan option also contains palm oil, which has been linked to deforestation, climate change and even animal deaths due to its widespread use.
Many customers have boycotted brands that include it in their products, and supermarket Iceland announced last April that they would stop using it by the end of 2018.
While the vegan roll's health benefits are debatable, there's no denying that it's better for the environment.
Not only does it help protect the pig population, but faux meat has a smaller carbon footprint and needs less land and water than livestock.
So, will you be trying it?
