Sky Q customers can get a free voice control TV remote – here’s how
SKY customers can get a free remote that lets viewers use their voice to control the TV.
Usually, the controller would set you back £29.99 but Sky is rolling out an offer to all Sky Q and VIP customers in the UK and Republic of Ireland so they can bag it for free.
The offer was spotted on deals forum, , where scores of bargain hunters have given it the thumbs up.
The offer ends March 31 so make sure you claim before then, and you won't be able to claim it if you already have the voice control remote.
However, delivery may take up to three months, so you might have to wait a while before you can use it.
Once you've got your new controller, pair it to to your Sky Q box, which needs to be connected to the internet.
How to claim the controller
TO get the offer, you'll need to be a Sky Q customer, which combines normal Sky packages with smart TV features.
Sky Q packages cost from £25 a month for 18 months, but prices may change during this period.
Next, you'll also have to register to be Sky VIP customer.
It's free to join Sky VIP: all you need to do is download the My Sky app onto your phone through the App Store or Google Play.
You can also pay your bills through the app and get help if you need it.
Sign onto the app by typing in your Sky ID username or email address, and password.

Once you're in the app, click on #SkyVIP, select Free Voice Remote and hit redeem and the control will be automatically sent to your registered address.
And before you pair your new remote, disconnect any old remote by holding down 7 and 9 on it until it's light flashes four times.
By pressing on the blue button in the middle of the remote, you can say the name of the show you want to watch and it will search for it on your TV.
You can even find a movie by saying famous quotes, such as “May the force by with you”.
And if you say “Sky VIP” into the remote, you’ll be able to see what other rewards are on offer.
