A spokeswoman for Harvey Weinstein told the paper: "Mr Weinstein obviously can’t speak to anonymous allegations, but he unequivocally denies allegations of non-consensual sex."

Meanwhile, Hollyoaks’ Lysette Anthony has told police she was raped by Weinstein.

The British actress, 54, claims she was assaulted in the late 1980s when the film director turned up at her house.

Weinstein, 65, is at a luxury rehab centre in Arizona, after about 40 women, many of them actresses, levelled accusations against him.

Among them, Swingers star Katherine Kendall said the naked mogul chased her round his New York flat after she rejected his advances in 1993.

Police in the UK and the US are investigating claims.

His representative has said previously: "Mr Weinstein has begun counselling, has listened to the community and is pursuing a better path."

Last night it emerged Weinstein faces Oscars exile as the organisation behind the film awards voted to expel him.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said its board "voted well in excess of the required two-thirds majority" to get rid of him at an emergency board meeting.

His brother Bob, co-founder of The Weinstein Company studio, called for his membership to be cancelled.

Bafta had already suspended the producer and on Tuesday Weinstein's wife, British designer Georgina Chapman, said she was leaving him.
