RESULTS of the European elections flooded in tonight as the Tories and Labour suffered heavy losses and Nigel Farage won a huge victory.

The first declarations came at 10pm with nearly all in by 1am.

For the European Parliament the UK is divided into 12 different regions, with each electing between three and ten MEPs depending on its population.

The MEPs are decided by proportional representation based on how well each party does in each region.

There are a total of 73 MEPS from Britain - although they could spend just a few months in Brussels depending on when the UK finally quits the EU.
