  • Antony on Man Utd struggles

Manchester United loanee Antony, who is now playing for Real Betis, broke down in tears over his struggles at Old Trafford while admitting he would go days without eating.

[Betis] Changed a lot because I needed to find myself, because of everything I went through in my personal life.

As I said, I wanted to do things, but they didn’t seem to work out because I wasn’t happy, I didn’t feel that desire to play football, and I needed to find myself and be happy again because playing football was always something I loved.

I went through difficult times [at Manchester United] when I no longer felt that pleasure. I even always told my brother, I told him that I couldn't take it anymore.

[My brother] Told me to hold on a little longer, that things were going to change. It even made me emotional, because they were very hard days for me.

Only I know what it was like to be there at home, not having the strength to even play with my son, going days without eating, staying locked in my room.

So, for me it was very complicated, but thank God, with the help of my family and mainly with the help of God, I managed to get ahead and today I am very happy here.

The winger was unhappy at being on the subs bench for the Europa League final and is worth around £45million.

  • Masterplan Amor'd out

Ruben Amorim has reportedly identified the main way he wants to strengthen United next season.

  • Mainoo and Garnacho futures in doubt

Young guns Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho look certain to be sold by cash-strapped Manchester United this summer.

The club remains in a financial mess and selling two of the first team’s biggest assets is now a priority to ease the pressure.

Bruno Fernandes has also suggested he could leave but United will not want to offload their skipper.

Argentine star Garnacho, 20, a potential target for Chelsea, would be open to a move away from Old Trafford.

He was unhappy at being on the sub’s bench for Wednesday’s 1-0 loss to Spurs in the Europa League final. He is worth around £45million.

England midfielder Mainoo is worth around £55m and there would not be a shortage of takers even though he has suffered an inconsistent season due to form and injury.

  • Amorim 'keen to sell FOUR'

Ruben Amorim is reportedly keen to sell FOUR senior Manchester United players this summer.

GIVEMESPORT reckon Amorim is ready to cash in on Andre Onana, Luke Shaw, Casemiro and Rasmus Hojlund.

That underlines claims that Hojlund's main striking role is under threat - with new frontmen tipped to arrive.

  • United players 'not up to it'

Roy Keane reckons United can't fix any problems with their current squad.

He said: "This group of players have show this year, with the amount of games they've lost - and last year in the league - they're not up to it.

"That's not going to change overnight with the manager and the system and having more time to work with them [the squad].

"They need certain players to come in who know the league and who are men."

  • Saudis set Bruno D-day

Al-Hilal want an answer from Bruno Fernandes by next week over whether he fancies a money-spinning move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

The skipper admitted he would go without a problem if Manchester United decided to cash in on him.

And that has put Al Hilal on red alert as they look to bring another marquee signing to the Middle East this summer.

They would be willing to offer United a transfer fee of around £100million for their talisman – while the 30-year-old would pocket up to £700,000 per week.

  • Keane smirks at Ruben verdict

Roy Keane smirked as he told Sky Sports that Manchester United "can't get any worse next year" following Ruben Amorim's rallying cry.

Amorim told Man Utd supporters that the "good days are coming" when addressing the Old Trafford faithful following United's 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday.

The Red Devils boss apologised to the fans inside the Theatre of Dreams following Man Utd's disastrous season that saw them lose in the Europa League final to Tottenham on Wednesday.

Amorim told the supporters to put the season "in the past" and "stick together and move forward" as he tried to bury United's worst league campaign in over 50 years.

Before he added: "Six months ago, in my first three games in charge, with two victories and one draw, I said to you a storm is coming. Today, after this disaster season, I want to tell you the good days are coming."

Asked if he was inspired by Amorim's words, Keane said: "I'm not sure about inspired, but they can't get any worse than this next year, can they?

"They can't get any worse. They'll have to improve. There's obviously a few players' contracts up - who will leave.

"We go back to recruitment. They certainly need to get players in who know the Premier League. I think the majority of signings over the past two or three years are players who have never played in the Premier League and they've struggled to adapt."

  • Red Devils linked to keeper Kobel

Manchester United have reportedly identified a replacement for Andre Onana.

Bild have claimed that the Red Devils are eyeing-up a move for Borussia Dortmund star Gregor Kobel.

The French striker is pushing for an exit from Chelsea, two years after a £52million switch from RB Leipzig.

And SunSport can reveal that London rivals Arsenal are among those lining up a move for Nkunku.

The Gunners are desperate to boost their firepower and Mikel Arteta sees the 27-year-old as a good option to add to his squad.

But Liverpool, Paris St Germain, Manchester United, West Ham and Atletico Madrid are heavily in the race to secure Nkunku’s services.

  • Treble flop

Manchester United confirmed three players are leaving the club - only minutes after their controversial win against Aston Villa.

Villa missed out on a Champions League finish following 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford.

Amad Diallo's opener was followed by a Christian Eriksen penalty.

The Dane was only handed the spot kick as he is departing United,

And the Red Devils confirmed his exit - along with those of centre-backs Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans.

A statement read: "Everybody at United thanks Victor, Jonny and Christian for their contributions during their time at Old Trafford, and wishes them the best of luck for the future.

"Each of them received a great ovation from the appreciative crowd on Sunday."

  • Prem explain why VAR didn't rule on Rogers 'goal'

The Premier League have released a statement over Aston Villa's controversial disallowed goal.

Villa thought they had gone in front - before Manchester United soon struck twice to win 2-0.

Morgan Rogers poked the ball away from keeper Altay Bayindir and tucked into an open net.

But referee Thomas Bramall blew his whistle before the ball crossed the line. He'd decided Rogers had kicked the ball out of Bayindir's hands and therefore awarded a free-kick against the Villa midfielder.

However, replays showed Bayindir did not have the ball under control.

Their Match Centre account tweeted during the United vs Villa match: "72’ - The referee’s call was a free kick to Manchester United with Bayindir deemed to be in control of the ball before Rogers gained possession.

"The whistle was blown by the referee before the ball entered the goal, therefore the incident was not reviewable by the VAR."
