Leroy Sane set to miss SEVEN months with ACL injury, reveals Man City boss Pep Guardiola

PEP GUARDIOLA fears Leroy Sane could be out for up to seven months with his cruciate ligament injury.
The German international winger was injured early in the Community Shield against Liverpool on Saturday – and tests revealed damage to his ACL.
That has scuppered his chances of a move to Bayern Munich – which could have gone through before the end of the month.
Now Guardiola has admitted it could be the spring before the former Schalke man is ready to play again.
He said: “I don’t know, normally this kind of injury is six or seven months, hopefully in February or March he can be back with us.
“It’s bad news but he’s young and he will recover well hopefully from the surgery next week. All of us are going to help him.
“In three years we’ve had three ACLs with Ilkay Gundogan and Benjamin Mendy.”
Despite the doubts over his future, Guardiola insists the club will stand by Sane over the coming weeks.
He said: “I didn’t think about him leaving.
"Always I have said he’s our player and he didn’t tell me he wanted to leave, always I thought he was ours.
“All the people here will help him, he will feel alone and we help him to feel as comfortable as possible.”
