Jadon Sancho to be offered £173k-a-week deal at Dortmund if Man Utd transfer falls through as Monday’s deadline looms

JADON SANCHO will cash in regardless of whether his Manchester United transfer goes through - with Borussia Dortmund ready to soften the blow with a mega-money new deal.

The Germans are ready to hand him a new £173,000-a-week contract if United do not complete their pursuit of him by Monday.

They want the cash to make further signings ahead of their 2020/21 Bundesliga campaign.

United are ready to hand Sancho a five-year £350,000-a-week deal.

They have reportedly agreed to pay Dortmund £60m up front, with a further £48m in add-ons for the 20-year-old England international.

For United it is a complete change in transfer strategy.

Long gone are the days of signing mercenaries like Alexis Sanchez on £505,000-a-week salaries.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer instead will look to the master Sir Alex Ferguson.

It is more about the character of the transfer target as well as the talent.

That is why he is rebuilding United with young, hungry players like Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Dan James.

And the Norwegian is combining that with top young Academy players such as Mason Greenwood.

But if the Sancho deal stalls Dortmund will keep their man and increase the winger's wages.

German newspaper report that Dortmund are ready to give Sancho a £173,000-a-week deal.

It would make him one of the top earners in German football.

Dortmund have already brought in Jude Bellingham from Birmingham as they make rapid plans for next season.

But United will not be held to ransom over Sancho's transfer.

However, if the huge transfer cannot be wrapped up imminently, it seems clear Dortmund's only choice to appease a disappointed player is to give him a huge pay rise.

Sancho has previously indicated he wants to return to England after three years in Germany.
