Rio Olympics 2016: Ashton Eaton looks like Magneto from X-Men in bizarre sun helmet

HE may be the reigning Olympic champion and world record holder in the decathlon - but US star Ashton Eaton's choice of headwear makes him look more like a comic book character.
Eaton, 28, is wearing a blue hat that covers the sides and back of his head, and stretches over his cheekbones - making him look like X-men baddie Magneto from the Marvel movies.
The specially designed garment is designed to keep heat away from his head and face while keeping cool as he competes in the gruelling ten-discipline event to maximise recovery.
Eaton won gold at London 2012 and is well on his way to defending his title in Rio this time around as the event's hot favourite having taken a big overnight lead.

The decathlon consists of a 100-metre run, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400-metre run, 110-metre hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw, and 1,500-metre run.
The winner of the decathlon is heralded as the "Most Athletic Man in the World" - but Eaton looked more like the film baddie portrayed by the likes of Michael Fassbender and .
But he did take off the hat when the sun went down as he raced in the 400m dash.
