Naga Munchetty leaves BBC Breakfast guest stunned as she brands his wife ‘awful’

NAGA Munchetty left BBC Breakfast guest and award-winning crime writer Sir Ian Rankin lost for words yesterday when talking about his new book.
Ian joined hosts Naga and Charlie Stayt on Thursday's show to discuss DI Rebus returning soon in the author's 24th book in the series.
But when Ian mentioned he and his wife were planning a break next year, Naga surprised the author by calling her "awful."
The author said: "We were meant to take a year off and go travelling but Covid got in the way.
"So she said, 'Next year, no writing, no festivals, no tours, just travelling, just holidays'. So I'm kind of looking forward to that."
Naga then replied: "She sounds like an awful wife doesn't she."
The award-winning author looked slightly taken back after Naga's remark.
He responded back: " No, no she's great she's done all the planning."
Realising she may have gone too far with the comment, Naga giggled and said: "So she wants you to go on holiday and have a break."
Naga’s remarks came shortly after introducing Ian to the show following a weather report from Carol Kirkwood.
Charlie later told BBC viewers: “While Carol was talking about the weather, we were talking about jigsaws.
“Why was that I bet you’re thinking,” Charlie went on. “Sir Ian Rankin sits down on the sofa and the next thing you know, we’re having an argument about jigsaws.”
Referring to how they help him and his wife unwind, Ian replied: “Especially during lockdown.
Ian shared that doing jigsaws with his wife was a "good way of switching off" and "not thinking about Covid and stuff".
