Bargain Hunt star Charles Hanson denies assault and coercive behaviour as he appears in court

BARGAIN Hunt star Charles Hanson has today denied assault and coercive behaviour as he appeared in court.
The TV auctioneer, 45, is accused of five offences in total after police were called to the £1.5million family home in June.
Hanson, who also appears on Flog It! and Antiques Road Trip, appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court today.
He is charged with two counts of of assault causing actual bodily harm and one of controlling and coercive behaviour.
The TV star is also accused of two counts of assault by beating.
He denied the charges, which allegedly took place between May 2015 and June 2023, during the brief hearing today.

Hanson was granted conditional bail to next appear at Derby Crown Court on February 7.
The star, who first appeared on Bargain Hunt in 2002, was charged on December 14.
Police had been called to his six-bedroom home in a picturesque Derbyshire village in the summer.
It is understood Hanson has since moved out of the house, which he shared with Rebecca, 40, since 2014.

He appeared on Bargain Hunt in 2002 and became the youngest expert on the team aged 25.
In a previous statement, Hanson denied the charges and said he would be "co-operating fully with the investigation and legal process".
