Gethin Jones and Helen Skelton ‘grow extremely close’ off screen after Morning Live star’s marriage split

MORNING Live stars Gethin Jones and Helen Skelton have reportedly grown close away from the show - three years after her tough split from husband Richie Myler.
Sources close to the Morning Live presenters revealed they have been supporting each other on and off the screen.

A source told : "Helen and Gethin have an extremely close working relationship and there's a feeling in recent months their friendship has blossomed into a deeper connection.
"They're both keen to keep a lid on it to avoid public scrutiny but there's no denying their closeness both on and off screen."
They were pictured close at the Baftas and last year were spotted at a charity ball set up by Rob Burrow's sisters, with a source adding about the ball: "It was very clear that Helen and Gethin were together as a couple at the event.
"They were with close friends of Helen's and their connection was undeniable."

The insider continued: "Helen and Gethin have been able to attend events together without much fanfare purely because they're work colleagues ... but anyone who has seen them at these bashes will testify they look extremely cosy."
The Sun has contacted their representatives for comment.
Helen's husband Richie left her for Stephanie Thirkill in 2022.
The Strictly star faced further heartbreak when her rugby player ex went on to have two children with his new love.

Gethin, who has previously dated former Towie star Lucy Mecklenburgh and was engaged to mezzo-soprano singer Katherine Jenkins, recently revealed that he's had little success on the dating scene.
He said he was struck off the popular dating app Hinge because women didn't believe his profile was really him.

He joked about his love life on Gordon Smart's Restless Natives podcast: "Writing to an online dating app ... 'Hi it's Gethin here, 46.
"'I just want to get my money back because it's not really working for me,' eating some cereal because I hadn't got some food in.'"
Helen and Gethin took part in an epic Comic Relief challenge earlier this year and both gushed about each other after raising £34million for charity.
Helen said on social media: "I don’t publicly say often enough how much love and respect I have for you my friend because I assume it is well known.
"But for the record you’re a legend and I am beyond grateful to have you by my side on the rink, the sofa and beyond.
"I can gush.. he doesn’t read beyond one paragraph on an insta post."
Gethin returned the praise by saying: "And a little appreciation post for this super woman. Unbelievable physical and mental resilience…
"Loves a laugh but a deep thinker (I had to remind her a few times we were live on TV).
"It says a lot that you can spend 24 hours with someone and still call them an hour later for a debrief…"
He previously spoke about feeling at his lowest point after his split in 2011 from Katherine.
He said: “I was engaged and then breaking up, afterwards, or even during that period, it was just awful.
