IF you thought Harry Styles had it bad when Taylor Swift penned break-up songs about him, spare a thought for his old One Direction bandmate Niall Horan.
Pop star Hailee Steinfeld, who dated Niall for a year has kicked off 2020 with an almighty diss track — called Wrong Direction.
The moody ballad features lyrics hinting that Niall was unfaithful to her.
American Hailee croons: “I just hate all the hurt that you put me through.
"And that I blame myself for letting you.
"Lookin’ back, I probably should have known, but I just wanted to believe that you were out sleepin’ alone.
"Hold me with your worst intentions, paint it as a happy ending, every time you burn me down, don’t know how.
"For a moment it felt like heaven, and it’s so gut-wrenchin’, fallin’ in the wrong direction.”
And it’s not just Niall’s alleged wandering eye that Hailee calls him out on, she also references his ego, which is now probably a bit bruised.
She sings: “On my tip-toes, but I still couldn’t reach your ego, guess I was crazy to give you my body, my mind. Don’t know what I was thinkin’ ’til now.
"Everyone thinks that you're somebody else, you’ve even convinced yourself.”
Niall told recently how the split in December 2018 gave him inspiration for his own upcoming album.
He said: "I had just gone through a break-up, which helps when it comes to writing songs, I guess. It helps vent the emotions.
“Going through heartbreak helped write the ballads, even some of the happy songs, the sad songs that are dressed up as happy songs sometimes.”
It’s not the first time Niall has been at the centre of pop song controversy. In 2014 Ed Sheeran wrote Don’t about Ellie Goulding cheating on him with Niall.
At least the lads are helping their exes shift some records.

“It helps give them a sense of responsibility because, God knows, they don’t lead a normal life.”
Given the flowers Elton buys, his gardeners have a tougher job than his wig maker.

HE’S already a man of many talents, and now telly favourite Alan Carr has revealed a new-found love of cross-dressing.
And it’s all thanks to Gemma Collins, after he dressed up as the larger-than-life celeb at a Halloween bash three years ago.
Asked if he liked wearing frocks, the Chatty Man host said: “Loads of dresses. I find it quite liberating.
“My favourite dress, and probably infamous, is my Gemma Collins one I wore for Halloween.
“The GC brings it out of me, she brings out The AC. I find her very empowering.
“I always thought, because I’m not the best looking man, I thought, ‘when I put on a dress I bet I’ll be this stunning woman’. No, you’re an ugly woman as well.
