This Morning’s Eamonn Holmes finally reveals why he’s been suffering from chronic pain

EAMONN Holmes has revealed the reason why he's been suffering from chronic pain in an ongoing health battle.

The 61-year-old opened up about having a dislocated pelvis as he awaits results of an MRI scan due to an escalation in the pain he has been suffering.

TV personality Eamonn, who co-hosts ITV's This Morning with his wife Ruth Langsford, joked his injury was "nowhere near as erotic as it sounds".

He told the that the injury happened "mysteriously", and his back is now "out of alignment" because of it.

"I mysteriously dislocated my pelvis and I don't know how - it's not as erotic as it sounds," Eamonn said. "My back is now out of alignment as a result."

He delved deeper into the injury on twitter, saying he had done "something to his back" while "getting into the car" or "getting out of bed".

Eamonn first told viewers about his chronic pain in March before going for an MRI scan and further tests to discover the cause.

The Irishman went on to explain that it was "absolutely scary" to discover how many people also lived with chronic pain like he did.

"Nobody knows what it's like unless they live with someone who has it," he said. "I'm in huge pain and nobody knows how to stop it.

"This hurts like hell and I need to find a way to overcome it. It has lasted a month and it feels like I can’t remember what life was like without it."

Eamonn has been alleviating his pain as best he can with physiotherapy and "invigorating" ice cold showers.

"Though when the physio suggested the cold showers I told him to go run and jump," he concluded.

Eamonn returned to host This Morning this week after taking time out to try and get to the bottom of his chronic pain.

He told his other half how the condition was "too difficult to explain" after Ruth told viewers how he had been doing.

"Since the last time I saw you, I'm doing very well thank you for asking," he told Ruth and their viewers. It's too difficult to explain. We're not here to talk about my troubles and my pain."

He told fans on Twitter the pain was like "he'd never experienced in his life" last Friday after having tests in hospital.

He said he "needed to find out what was causing" the problem all over his body, and is still yet to have a full diagnosis.

Ruth, 61, admitted it would take longer than the episode's run time to explain Eamonn's condition.

"We could be here all day, we've only got two-and-a-half hours," she joked.

Eamonn went on to explain of his physio in a follow up tweet, writing: "Physio just left after second session of the day.

"He said my body was hot… result being that I needed to cool off with my second cold shower of the day. Let's hope it helps me sleep soundly."

Eamonn's first daily physiotherapy session occurs at 4:30am ahead of his co-hosting on This Morning in order to be "match fit".

"All this will either kill me or cure me," he joked. "So far, so good though and remember I'm going to be sharing #ChronicPain stories & advice."

He previously had to wait for an MRI scan because of the Easter bank holiday weekend, where he was left having "sleepless nights".

'The pain is absolutely worse at night," he said. "The humbling thing is when you go on social media and you talk to people who suffer from this, age isn't a barrier, where you live isn't a barrier, how much you earn isn't a barrier."

Eamonn's situation prompted a phone-in on This Morning about chronic pain.

"I've had this a month, I hope I won't have this much longer, but there are people who have lived with chronic pain their whole lives," he told viewers.

Later on the show, the presenter was seen using a walking stick as his wife Ruth admitted it "takes him so long" to walk.

She said: "It takes him so long walking, he's just on his way back and he will be here any minute. Here he is, it takes him longer to walk."
