The leader of Team Behemoth stormed off after a team of three children and their guardian beat them after a tight final
A ROBOT Wars contestant furiously stormed off stage after discovering he had lost out to a group of schoolkids in a head-to-head match.
Team Behemoth - which comprised of four burly pals - faced off against Team Cherub - made up of three pre-teens and one of the team's big brother and guardian.
On discovering they'd lost, Ant - Team Behemouth's captain- didn't take too kindly to missing out on the final, and shoved the robot's remote to a team mate before he stormed off set in a strop.
He can be briefly seen muttering "whatever" under his breath before disappearing off-screen.
In the head-to-head, Behemoth appeared to be winning the game when Cherub's robot got stuck under a floor flipper, causing the final round to be reset and they had to start again.
When their time in the ring revealed no clear winner - with no knockout and no immobilisation to either robot - it went through to a judges decision.
Angela Scanlon then brought the two teams together to announce the winner - and it was given to Cherub.
She explained: "The decision was unanimous and the fight and the two points are going to go to Cherub and you're through to the final!"
When Angela realised Ant had gone missing, she quizzed the team mates, who put it down to the "stressful" situation as the reason behind him storming off.
They also blamed the new addition to the robot - a new grabber weapon opposed to a scoop it used to have.
Ant then added: "The reason I walked out there was because I was so annoyed at the team for making that decision not to go with a guaranteed win."
He added: "Sometimes its best for you to go with what you know works."
Viewers were divided over whether or not the storm-off was warranted, and shared their opinions on Twitter.
One wrote: " I can understand why behemoth were upset. A little petulant of him to walk off, but cherub were favoured through the whole show."
However, others were less sympathetic and said: "No team leader should ever storm off after a loss and blame your own team. Especially in front of kids ... that kicked your a***"
Another jested: "Grown man storms off after losing to a group of kids, only on !" .
Wow! Ant from was such a child! Throwing a tantrum after being beaten by children...
