KELLY BROOK accused feminists of boobing as she defended The Sun’s Bust in Britain competition.

The telly presenter said women should be allowed to make their own choice about entering - and told how becoming a model had “empowered” her as a young woman.

After 20 years in the modelling trade she is now judging our search for the finest cleavage in the country.

And she launched both barrels at critic Janet Street Porter during a tit for tat argument on ITV1’s Loose Women show.

Kelly, 38, praised the campaign for backing “real women” who have careers but aren’t afraid to think “Why not?”

The stunner told the panel: “What's wrong with celebrating women‘s bodies and women feeling sexy, like why wouldn't i want to encourage women to do that?”

She added she decided to support our campaign after recalling how becoming a lingerie and swimwear model “opened so many doors for me, how i felt empowered and that's kind of kick-started a whole career for me”.

She continued: “I thought if I can't front this campaign, who can? And if I don't front it I'm basically saying there's something wrong with it.”

Earlier this year the British sex symbol defended walk-on girls and rubbished claims that the traditional darts girls are sexist and “demeaning” to women. And she said backing The Sun’s Bust in Britain further put her support behind grid girls.

The actress said: "I think this year I've been very vocal about supporting grid girls, the walk on girls with the darts and stuff.

"They’re not being overly sexualised, they wanna do it and they feel confident, they should be allowed to do it so I felt that it was something that I could confidently do - I felt like I was at an age where I don't have the ‘best’ body."

"I'm not a 20 year old lingerie model anymore. I have insecurities. I don't just turn up on a shoot and whip my clothes off and feel amazing. I'm a bit insecure like anyone else - so i felt like it would be a fun thing to do, so yeah i got involved.”

She told panellists Kaye Adams, Janet Street Porter and Fabulous columnist Stacey Solomon she wanted to show she has other “hobbies and interests” outside of “getting my clothes off.”

She was attacked by Janet Street Porter for encouraging women to think that their “assets are the sum total of their brain”.

But Kelly - who is dating 32-year-old Italian model Jeremy Parisi - stood her ground and said the competition was for “women of all ages”.

She jokingly said she would also judge a “most gorgeous testicles” competition but added: “They are not that attractive.

“Women like looking at other women. I’d much rather look at pictures of beautiful women.”

Fabulous columnist Stacey had the final say adding: “Isn't the reality that as we move forward, the feminist movement is more empowered and women feel more like they’ve got a voice, isn't it that they have choice?: “

She announced: “As a judge of Bust In Britain, I want readers to know that if I can do it, you can do it too."
