MEGHAN Markle opened up about her "hopes, fears and insecurities" during an intimate chat at a bakery for disadvantaged women where she complained about the "culture of instant gratification."

The Duchess of Sussex, 38, said that humans are stuck in a habit of "wanting things done immediately" and needing an "instant fix" to problems, reports.

Speaking to a woman named Tanya, who was stabbed multiple times by her violent ex-partner, Meghan said: "But we aren't mechanical objects that need to be fixed.

"You're a wounded creature that needs to be healed and that takes time."

The Luminary Bakery is a London-based project which help women who are victims of sex trafficking, violence, who have been to prison or are finding it hard to get back into work.

The Duchess previously featured the bakery in her September issue of Vogue and paid tribute to the creators of her birthday cake on Instagram in August with a photo of their inspirational quote cupcakes.

Following her visit to their new bakery in Camden earlier this week, Meghan posted a video of her chatting to volunteers and decorating cakes on her SussexRoyal Instagram account.

Praising the bakery for offering a place to "heal", Meghan also said that all women have a "deep connection" and "shared understanding".

She continued: "Our lives may be different, our backgrounds, our experiences, all varied but I find that in these moments of connection it becomes abundantly clear that our hopes, our fears, our insecurities, the things that make us tick... well, those are very much the same.

"And there's a comfort in that."

The Duchess's remarks come after Meghan and Prince Harry discussed their lives in the public spotlight during a recent ITV documentary.

During that documentary – which followed the couple's engagement in Africa – Harry explained how he felt Meghan had become a "victim" of the tabloid press.

Earlier this week, Meghan reached out to the Labour MP for Halifax in West Yorkshire, Holly Lynch, about life in the pubic eye.

The Duchess of Sussex over the phone about how public life can be a lonely place for women, and also thanked her for an open letter that Ms Lynch and 71 other female politicians had signed to show support to Meghan over negative coverage she has received.
