DON'T let pesky bugs ruin your plants this summer.

Gardening expert Angel posted a revealing three easy ways to keep slugs out of your yard using cheap items you already have.

BEER TRAP

First, Angel said to try making a beer trap to keep slugs away.

According to , "slugs are attracted to the yeasty odors found in beer."

Simply cut a few holes in the top of a container and fill it with two to three inches of beer.

"The slugs will use these holes to access the trap."

Then they said to bury the container slightly above the soil and place the lid on top.

"They can't resist it and they'll drown," she said.

CRUSHED EGG SHELLS

Another method Angel shared to help keep slugs away is to sprinkle crushed egg shells or diatomaceous earth around the bottom of your plants.

The expert explained that when slugs crawl across the broken shells, it will cut them up and cause them to die.

Finally, Angel said to use a piece of wood to keep the slugs out of your yard.

"They'll crawl under it for shade," she said.
