BOMBSHELL BOOK

Release date of Prince Harry’s ‘explosive’ memoir ‘confirmed’ by publishing industry insiders

PRINCE Harry’s memoir is now set to hit shelves in January – amid fears that bombshell revelations could mar King Charles’ coronation.

It comes after the Duke of Sussex, who has already received half of a £35million deal for his book, delayed publishing in the wake of the Queen's death.

It was thought that publication could even be put off until after the coronation in May, but last night industry executives told The New York Times that the book will be published on January 10.

It will mark the three-year anniversary of Harry and Meghan’s official exit from the Royal Family on January 8, 2020.

Last month The Sun told how the prince tried to make last-minute changes after his grandmother died.

Sources said he feared parts will be deemed insensitive so soon after the Queen’s death — and his dad Charles taking the throne.

It also emerged that he got an advance of around £17.5million ($20million) for the “wholly truthful” memoir — part of a £35million four-book deal.

Harry’s book has been ghost-written by American novelist JR Moehringer, whose 2009 autobiography on former tennis ace Andre Agassi featured attacks on his parents and upbringing.

Harry has already launched verbal blasts at his family, accusing one of being a racist during the Oprah Winfrey interview in March last year.
In a promotional statement for his book, Harry said he was “excited for people to read a first-hand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful”.

When the deal was first announced in the summer of 2021, Penguin Random House described the book as “an intimate and heartfelt” memoir from Prince Harry that would provide “the definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses and life lessons that have helped shape him.”

He said in a promotional statement: “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.

“I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story — the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned — I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.”

The Sun previously told how the prince had tried to make last-minute changes after sources said he feared parts would be deemed insensitive so soon after the Queen’s death — and his dad Charles taking the throne.

In a promotional statement for his book, Harry said he was “excited for people to read a first-hand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful”.

Harry, and Meghan, are also said to want to edit and delay the streaming of their Netflix series.

Sources said the Sussexes have secretly planned a year of reconciliation with the Royal Family - but only after the memoir and Netflix series have come out.

It is thought the couple never looked to criticise the Queen out of respect for the monarch.

But if any of their so-called truth bombs are dropped on the new King and Queen they could thwart any reconciliation plans, it is said.

A source said: “They have always been careful to not criticise the monarch. They have always tried to be respectful to the Queen.

“But the Queen has now died and Charles and Camilla are the King and Queen.

“Clearly, this reconciliation attempt would never work if they have been critical of the new monarch, or both.”
