A SAVVY mum has created the perfect way to keep her food bill down during the current cost of living crisis by showing her followers how to feed a family-of-four delicious meals with a budget of just £10 per week.

Mum-of-one Grace Mortimer claims with a bit of planning the tight budget can keep a family happy and sometimes it works so well there's even left overs for lunches too.

Taking to Instagram, , regularly shares her meal plans on how to feed your family on £10 and this week provided her followers with the exact list needed for a mouthwatering pie, creamy pasta and a curry.

Sharing the priced-up list of the ingredients she used for the week Grace claims, if you were to hit Aldi, this lot would be enough for 40 portions of food:

  • 500g pasta at (62p)
  • 450g frozen peas, (27p)
  • Cherry tomatoes (55p)
  • Pesto (34p)
  • Cream cheese (84p),
  • sausages (£1.49)
  • 1 tin of lentils (49p)
  • aubergine (72p)
  • 300ml of single cream (95p)
  • 1 kilo rice (45p), 500g frozen butternut squash (75p).
  • 1 tin coconut milk (69p),
  • 2 tins chopped tomatoes (56p),
  • 1 swede (57p), 500g carrots (24p),
  • 8 baking potatoes (£1.04)
  • 1 tin of mushy peas (30p)

TOTAL = £10.67.

Once all the ingredients were bought, Grace wasted no time in showing us what she whipped up in the kitchen.

And for the budget she had, the meals looked sensational. She shared images of some mouth-watering dishes which included Butternut squash curry and Cajun rice.

There was also creamy pesto pasta, creamy sausage and lentils served with fluffy white rice, chilli con carne and a tasty looking lentil and bacon pie.

Grace said she came with the money saving ideas because the cost of living was a constant worry.

Previously her weekly shop would cost as much as £50. So the Sunday Times best selling author came up with a way that she could feed her family which is her partner, Tom, and their six-year-old son.

Without compromising on taste and quality, she managed to create nutritious meals that are filling and can stretch that little bit further.

Grace says her budget shop is so good she even has some left over for lunch the next day.

She said of her sharing her budget meals: "I love cooking so it felt like a good way to help. People just can't believe how much food you can make for just £10."

The video amassed over 700 likes and fans flocked to her page to praise her for budget shop and some even asked her for tips on how to make the delicious looking meals.
