I bought battered trainers for a quid on Vinted & got them looking brand new…people can’t believe they’re the same pair

A WOMAN has revealed that she bought a pair of battered trainers for just £1 on Vinted, but they had seen better days and needed some urgent TLC.
Rebecca Lees nabbed the £1 pair of Vans for her husband, from the second-hand website Vinted, but needed to get to work to make them look brand new again.
Taking to Facebook to show off her cleaning method, she shared how she made the grubby trainers look brand new, in the private group , which has 2.2million members.
Rebecca said: “Was looking at getting my husband some vans to match me.
“I found these beaten up ones on Vinted for £1 (first picture) and thought it was worth a shot for a quid.
“Well, some pink stuff, bleach, vanish and a wash later.. this is the result.
“Pretty happy at this for £1!
“Just goes to show that with a bit of elbow grease we can give things a new lease of life.”
Rebecca then added: “I soaked the laces in bleach.
“I used an old toothbrush to clean the white strips with the pink stuff paste.

“I then used a vanish bar to clean the inside and the laces again.
“Finally I put in the washing machine with laundry cleanser and vanish powder.”

Whilst someone else noted: “I did the same with some shoes of mine, using pink stuff to clean them, and they looked like new!”
To this, Rebecca replied: “It's great stuff isn't it! I didn't expect it to come out this well though to be honest.”
Meanwhile, some Facebook users were in such shock at the difference in the shoes, that many thought they weren’t even the same pair.
