After using the AI software ChatGPT to improve my Hinge dating profile, I did indeed secure a date - but he thought I was a total bore online.
ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI that was released in November.
It has been making waves online for its human-like responses, which people have used on many of their social media profiles, from Facebook to .
Recently, I put that to the test and used ChatGPT to improve my Hinge profile.
Sadly, it made my responses sound very robotic.
The end goal was to see if I could get a date using the software on my profile and, despite my initial doubts, it was a success.
On a Thursday evening with the New York City skyline in the background, I went on a first date with a complete stranger.
I matched with my handsome date after publishing my initial article - and we chatted about life and work before he asked me out.
But in a surprising twist, I realized I had forgotten to change my prompts back to normal, human English when we matched.

It was my robotic profile that had allured my date, whom I'll call Dan for the sake of this article.
I showed up fashionably late - by an hour - for our rooftop date, which I later found out made him think that I was going to stand him up.
He admitted he thought I was superficial online, so my late entrance fitted with this.
As we exchanged pleasantries and had a casual conversation, I admitted to him that most of my profile was a lie and done by ChatGPT.
Funnily enough, he was relieved, and I had to know why.
When asked what prompted him to match me, he admitted: "Your looks got my attraction."
He joked that no guy would ever swipe left on me, even if my profile said I was a man.
What a flirt.
Apparently, he missed my ChatGPT prompts altogether on first look, bypassing them to peruse my photos before he doubled back.
My intense answers to my prompts combined with my photos made him interested, but also wary to meet me.
My date admitted, after reading the computer-generated prompts, that he was worried I would be too boring.
But nevertheless, he agreed to give the first date a shot.
"Sometimes, looks can take over, and the person loses their personality and are boring, but you had a lot of energy," he said.
According to him, I was much funnier in person.
I had two prompts that were filled with long text, which he said made me seem too serious and stuck-up.
"I found out the good way that you were a fun girl to hang with and absolutely not too uptight," he said.
When asked about whether ChatGPT was a useful tool for dating, Dan was not a fan.
"I would say that it takes the fun out of a person. It could maybe work on a LinkedIn profile or on a resume and for people looking more for a business contract relationship," he explained.
"I feel that it takes away your personality because when I met you, you were nothing like that, and I'm glad," he added with a smile.
