I was told my bathroom renovation would cost £6,000… so I did it myself for just £300 – here’s how

THIS money-saving mum managed to change her entire bathroom for a bargain.
Mum Rhian Joiya, 40, from Rhondda Cynon Taff, shared how she transformed the room with only £300.
The bathroom hadn't changed in the eight years Rhian lived in her home, so she decided to change up the beige tiles.
But professionals said it would cost £6,000.
"I just couldn’t justify the price for such a small space," she told .
While searching online, Rhian found Frenchic paint, which doesn't need multiple coats.

The mum painted the radiator and shower panel, wall tiles and blinds.
After buying cheap adhesive tiles from Dunelm, she upgraded the hardware in her shower and invested in a new cabinet.
Rhian added: "In B&Q I picked up black spray paint and black electrical tape.
"Then I got three black photo frames from B&M and accessories from IKEA and Primark. Finally I got white spotlights from Screwfix. In total I spent just under £300."

Besides paying an electrician to change lights, the mum did the rest of the work herself.
She said: "Now the project is finished, I’m very happy and proud of it. I’ve saved thousands and the room is a relaxing space now."
