My husband is a neat freak but I spend £8K on Christmas tat – I have a dedicated ‘Santa room’ I enjoy all year round
A WOMAN obsessed with Christmas has revealed she spent £8,000 on decorations that she keeps in a Father Christmas themed room all year round.
Heather Shayne spends every weekend scouring markets and online sites for more things to add to her 'Santa room'.
The 37-year-old already has more than 1,200 decorations including mugs, lights, trees and figurines.
She told the SWNS news agency: "The 'Santa Room' is more than just a room, it's an experience - when you walk in, it's a Christmas overload.
"I just love the Christmas spirit, with all the music and decorations.
"I might not be Santa's biggest fan, but I'm definitely up there among them!"
Heather, who is from St Louis Missouri said the santa obsession began in 2015, after she purchaed a four pack of Christmas mugs.
Her collection slowly grew until she needed a whole room to store her ornaments.
She said: "My goal is for there to be so many decorations that you can't see the walls."
The festive fan said that the room is a "place of peace and happiness" and added that she likes to spend time there so it feels like its Christmas all your round.

Heather said that her husband is not a fan of her collection as he is a neat freak.
However, she added that this will not stop her from buying more Santa themed products.
She said: "Daniel isn't a fan and he's happy it's in the basement, so we can close the door and pretend it isn't there - but he'll just have to deal with it," she added.
"I just love everything about Christmas - the music, the decorations, and spending time with family and friends.
"Everybody knows I'm obsessed.
"I don't think they totally understand it, but they know I have fun with it!"
