The organising duo, interior designer Charlotte Reddington and fashion stylist Gemma Lilly, have worked with a number of high-profile celebrity clients including Rita Ora, Amanda Holden, Rochelle Humes, and Alex Scott to name just a few.

They also star on ITV’s This Morning providing their home organisation and decluttering tips.

From budget storage solutions to items to switch out to bring space, share five ways to embrace the  space in your wardrobe this spring…

1. Hanger hack

Whenever we do a wardrobe detox, the first thing we always recommend doing is a change in hangers.

It’s a simple switch that can make the biggest difference.

Not only do bulky wooden and plastic hangers take up space, but they can make wardrobes look messy and unorganised.

You can typically fit three velvet hangers for every one wooden one.

Giving a uniform, modern look, it will transform the space to feel like your favourite boutique clothes store.

2. So long to dark winter nights

Swap out darker colours, with pops of pastel shades or some warmer neutrals.

Opt for outfits that can be easily layered so you can be fully prepared for the UK’s unpredictability as we all know it can be raining and cold in the morning and blue skies and sunshine by the afternoon.

We sort messy celeb homes from Michelle Keegan to Olivia Attwood’s and there’s a £1.25 buy they’ve all got which organises their wardrobe perfectly

3. Detox

The only way is to get everything out.

Once you’ve done this, it’s much easier to see what you have rather than keeping anything hiding at the back of the wardrobe.

Create separate piles to make the process as clear and organised as possible - keep, donate, sell etc.)

You need to be as honest with yourself as possible during this part of the process.

What have you not worn for months or even years that could be saving you space and even making you money, selling on sites like eBay or Vinted

When detoxing, really think about which items of clothes in your closet you love, feel good in and actually wear. Introduce items back into the wardrobe, grouping  by garment or colour so your favourite pieces are easy to find.

4. Physically clean your wardrobe

Give the space inside of your wardrobe a good dust and clean to make it smell fresh and new season ready.

Make sure you get to the very back of the shelves and bottom of the wardrobe, using a damp cloth to catch any dust or debris that may have built up over the winter months.

5. Switch it out

Switch out heavier knits for lighter ones.

As the weather improves a sweater may still be needed but a chunky rollneck jumper could end up just taking up valuable wardrobe space.
