She had previously resided in a four-bedroom property in Solihull, West Midlands, but stuck it on the market for £700,000 in May last year.

Now the star, who's believed to be living in a property with a sprawling garden near London, has decided to charge her only child rent in a bid to teach him how to “pay his way”.

“It’s brilliant, I’ve gone to a new level,” she shared on the Parenting Hell podcast, hosted by Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe.

“Wait for it… he’s paying rent.

“I mean, it’s not a lot of rent, I’ll be honest with you.”

The going rate to live with one of the nation’s most famous presenters is only £10 a week, Alison revealed.

Experts estimate that her net worth could be as high as £4 million.

“I actually love getting a little bit of cash from him,” she said.

“Like, he gives it to me every month, that £40 - I absolutely love it.

“I go and get my eyebrows done, I go and get my nails done, and I pay in cash - perfect.”

Alison continued that Aiden recently started paying to watch the football through SkyTV - and it was costing her an extra £30 a month.

So, she made a pact with him to pay her for that too, meaning she’ll be getting £70 cash a month from him as of next month.

'PAY HIS WAY'

The down-to-earth presenter explained that she thinks it's important for her son to learn how to “pay his way” and jokingly referred to herself as “the landlady”.

“It’s a nice base to begin, and it’s regular,” she said.

“He’s okay paying it.

“I thought he’d be a bit funny about it.”

Aiden recently completed a mechanic apprenticeship but has decided to ditch the “dirty” career path in favour of becoming a DJ, his mum shared.

“DJing was always his passion,” she said.

“So I said, ‘You know what, in life, you should do something where you love it.

“Something you would do for free, that becomes your passion and then that’s how you work.

“And you’ll never work a day in your life really, because you’re doing something you love.”
