The beauty guru said: “Alright friends, if we're in our 40s and up, even later 30s, and you've been doing the same makeup that you learned in high school or in your 20s for the last 20 to 30 years, 40 years possibly, this is for you.
“I was a makeup artist in the 90s, 2000s, and I probably taught you these very same techniques.”
Known as ‘’ on TikTok, Erica shared a makeup tutorial that has since garnered over seven million views.
She begins by addressing the common practice of applying a light shade across the entire lid, suggesting this technique should be avoided.
“I'm using the ColourPop palette, so this is just your basic palette.
“Use a medium tone and go on the lid and then bring it up to actually get the puff a little more down and recede versus coming at you.”
I was so pretty I stopped traffic, never paid for drinks & always got asked out - then I grew up & now feel invisible
Next, she talks about lifting the eye and explains why the traditional “light, dark, light, dark” method will make your eye appear to fall.
Instead, she suggests going “uncomfortably high to lift your eye” before then taking a “lighter colour” and applying it to the inner corners.
She also debunks the myth of “only using matte if you are mature.” Erica continues: “No, that looks dusty.”
She urges people not to be afraid to put some “luminosity on the lid” as it “catches the light and brings volume and dimension.”

Biggest skincare trends for 2025
Head of Clinic, Kimberley Medd, shared the five skincare trends predicted to take off in 2025.
1. Exosomes
Exosomes are the buzzword for 2025, taking advanced skin regeneration to new heights. These micro-messengers signal skin cells to repair damage, boost collagen, and accelerate recovery, and they’re a gamechanger for targeting ageing.
2. Streamlined Skincare
The age of 12-step routines is fading as consumers shift to more intentional, multi-functional products. Streamlining skincare not only saves time but also reduces the risk of overloading your skin. In 2025, we’ll see a rise in hybrid products that combine active ingredients for simplified, effective results.
3. Vegan Collagen
Plant-based collagen will dominate the skincare world this year, providing a sustainable, ethical alternative to traditional animal-derived collagen. Expect vegan collagen in everything from moisturisers to serums.
4. The Rise Of AI
AI is revolutionising the beauty landscape, making it possible for consumers to get truly personalised skincare solutions. In 2025, we predict a dramatic shift towards AI-powered tools that help people understand their skin on a deeper level.
5. Hair Loss Solutions -
Hair loss is an issue that affects more men than we often realise, and it’s no longer just something we’re talking about behind closed doors. This year, expect to see a continued rise in demand for treatments that not only tackle hair loss but also nurture overall scalp health.
