We paid £99 for cheap holiday and ended up with a dream trip to Thailand – there’s no catch, anyone can do it

But two friends have revealed how they bagged their dream getaway for under £100.

Taking to TikTok, Ella, from Devon, shared a video with her friend as they nervously waited to find out where they'd be jetting off to.

The 21-year-old and her friend, Caitlin, spent £99 on a Mystery holiday from Wowcher.

The deal allows people to enjoy a getaway without having to break the bank, the only catch is you won't know where you're going until you've paid.

The viral holiday voucher sends some lucky punters to world class resorts that they could not normally afford.

"When you and your bestie book a £99 Wowcher holiday to make some memories and end up getting seven nights in Thailand," the text over the video reads.

The pals seemed overjoyed with their holiday, and fellow TikTok users were just as excited for them.

One commented: "Me and my partner are on our Wowcher holiday right now, we bagged three nights in Portugal, it's such a good idea if you fancy a gamble."

"I got goosebumps for you girls! Make some lush memories together," a second commented.

But others weren't sure if the deal was worth it, and some warned that there could be hidden costs involved.

One said: "I got the Dominican Republic, got there and the hotel didn't even exist."

"They make you pay so much extra, they phones saying me and my friend owe them £400 for the flights and the hotel lol," another claimed.

Ella replied to one comment to reveal there would be some things she'll have to fork out for before her Thailand getaway.

"[Other fees include] Luggage of course, seats on flights and spending money! And obviously if you want to change your flight times," she said.

Previously, Travel experts at Tyla.com have recommended the Wowcher travel offer though.

They said: "From what we’ve seen, the Wowcher £99 ‘mystery holiday’ voucher is well worth the money.

"Given that return flights can now easily exceed £99 per person, getting several days in a hotel and return flights for less than £100 is hard to beat.

"However, the value of each deal will differ depending on the destination, hotel class and time of year that you choose to travel."
