And now the divisive shower curtain mania is back, with many thrifty homeowners proudly showing off their fence makeovers on the cheap.
The viral trend sees hundreds of Brits putting up shower curtains outside to cover fences or grotty walls, fences and even old doors.
While this is indeed a wallet-friendly option for a quick and easy transformation, it's sparked a fierce debate online - with critics dubbing the look ''terrible''.
But despite the backlash, it looks like plastic shower curtains are here for yet another season - whether some like it or not.
One place where the garden trend has returned is the popular , with dozens of Brits proudly showing off their outdoor glow-ups.

One person, Remi Mason, said their mum had attached eBay shower curtains to her fence - which now featured a faux waterfall effect.
Although the photos were allegedly submitted to the group in lockdown, it wasn't until recently the post was approved - and heaps of others revealed they'd jumped on the trend too.
A fellow member, Lynnsey Wilson, uploaded a snap of her upgraded garage - that was now hiding behind a cottage-feel curtain.
''I've done this,'' said Tania Denning, who had attached a shower curtain featuring the Buddha in front of a gorgeous flower display.

Meanwhile, Debbie Joynt opted for a more tropical design to cover the unsightly garage.

Rival Temu also has a mega variety of shower curtains for a garden overhaul - some cheap picks include a rainforest-themed curtain for just £6 or even a hidden oasis one for £7.

And the experts revealed the garden feature which adds the most value to a property is a shed.

- Water features eg. fountain or pond - 58%
- Modern garden furniture - 54%
- Artificial lawn/grass - 40%
Seeing the epic fence makeovers others shared, one person said: ''I thought it was painted, great idea.''
Someone else commented under : ''I saw people do this near me. They look like they're at the beach. Quite effective.''
However, not everyone will be jumping on this trend, as a critic thought: ''These will probably rip down in heavy wind.''
