Where is Great Ormond Street, was Charlie Gard treated there and how many children does the hospital look after?

GREAT Ormond Street Hospital - informally known as GOSH - is a children's hospital located in London.
It offers the UK's widest range of specialist health services for kids, but what else do we know about the hospital?
Where is Great Ormond Street Hospital?
GOSH is a hospital in North West London - close to Russell Square tube station in the borough of Camden - but more than half its patients come from outside the city.
Kids are referred from hospitals across the UK, and overseas, for treatment in the facility.
It is the largest centre in the UK for treating kids with cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, cancer services, intensive care, nephrology and renal transplants - among other things.
The hospital is closely associated with University College London, which is the largest centre for research and post graduate teaching in children's health in Europe.
Was Charlie Gard treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital?
Charlie Gard's fight for life touched the world.
The tot had a disease called mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome, as both of his parents Connie and Chris were unknowingly carrying the faulty gene.
Doctors at the famous hospital were involved in the treatment of terminally ill toddler Charlie Gard.
The nature of the case has resulted in staff being threatened and the police being notified.

What is the hospital's history? How many kids are treated there today?
GOSH was founded in 1852, with just 10 beds, and was the first dedicated children's hospital in the UK.
In 1843, a survey found that only 26 of the 2,400 patients in London hospitals were under the age of 10.
However, of the 51,000 people dying in the capital that same year, 21,000 were under 10.
At the time, kids were thought better off being cared for at home with their mums - even if seriously ill.
GOSH was founded by Dr Charles West and, under matron Frances Willey, its number of beds tripled to 30 in the first three years.
Under Frances' leadership, the nursing team grew from one to 13 during the same time period.
The hospital has come a long way from its humble beginnings.
In 2016/17, GOSH treated more than 252,000 outpatients and 43,000 inpatients - around 295,000 patients in total.
