Historic St George’s Chapel makes perfect sense as Harry and Meghan’s wedding venue… and it’s cheaper and safer than a wedding in London, former royal aide says

ST George's Chapel is the perfect venue for a Royal wedding because it's safer and cheaper than anywhere in London, according to a top former royal aide.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sent Britain into a frenzy with the news that they will tie the knot in May, with the Windsor Castle chapel serving as the loved up couple's venue.
Although currently fifth in line, Harry will be bumped down to sixth when Wills and Kate have their third child, due in April.
And Dickie Arbiter, the Queen's former press spokesman, told the Sun Online that the 15th-century Gothic chapel, where Harry was christened, will be ideal as the Prince's wedding venue.
The royal expert said: "It really doesn't warrant the sixth in line to the throne having a big wedding in London.
"And besides, St George's Chapel is far more historic than anything else. It has a tremendous Royal connection. "
The last sovereign married there was Edward VII in 1863, although the chapel has served as the burial place for countless Royals since - and is where the Queen will one day be buried.
Mr Arbiter, who knows the Royals better than anyone, added: "There is great historic value and it's also, from a security point of view, a lot more self-contained than Westminster Abbey.
"If you have it in London, there is also tremendous expense, whereas if you have it in Windsor it is less expensive.
"It will still be a traditional affair, but it won't have 2,000 people in the congregation - there will probably be around 800 people who Harry and Meghan want to have there."
Among these guests, we can expect to see some of the injured armed forces personnel who Harry has devoted much of his life to, the royal expert predicts.
He said: "Look at Harry's interactions at the Invictus Games - he's helping them get back into society and by inviting them to the wedding he's endorsing his feelings towards them."
As for the ceremony itself, we can apparently expect a carriage ride or a walkabout to give us all a glimpse of the happy couple, but the venue won't be done up quite like the last royal wedding.

Mr Arbiter added: "It won't have the decoration we saw at Westminster Abbey - St George's Chapel doesn't lend itself to that.
"They will decorate it how they want to, but they will decorate it in keeping with the historic value."
