Mum reveals why she is considering having a baby by a SPERM DONOR – despite having a long-term boyfriend who also wants children

A MUM who has been in a relationship for three years has revealed she wants a baby with a sperm donor - because her boyfriend's divorce is taking too long to finalise.
The woman made the comments on a Mumsnet thread and has confused people because she admitted both she and her partner want children.
She : "We have been together three years, and agreed earlier in our relationship that we wanted children.
"I have always wanted another child, this is the only relationship I have been in where I can definitely see a future.
"Not sure whether its my biological clock ticking but I am now desperate for a child.
"However, I do not want to consider trying for a child until DP [dear partner] is divorced/finances separated."
She continued: "He originally thought the divorce would be quick as ex agreed, however that position has changed drastically, it has been delayed repeatedly. It now looks as if it will take around another year to finalise.
"AIBU [am I being unreasonable] to consider using a sperm donor before time runs out? Ideally, I would love a child with DP and him only, but only once everything has been finalised, which seems to be taking forever!!"
But other people have warned her if she does this then she should consider her relationship with her partner over.
One woman said: "I think if you go ahead it'll be the end of your relationship with your DP. Have you talked to him about this? What does he think? I see no reason to wait until his divorce is finalised to be honest if it's what you both want."
Another asked: "As someone trying to get pregnant by donor sperm. Why the hell would you want your baby born through inserting a syringe into your vagina when you could have loving sex with your long term partner."
Someone said it was "astronomically absurd". "Your situation sounds chaotic and you want to add more chaos to it," she said. "I really can't quite believe what I've just read. It sounds astronomically absurd."
