The go-to comfortable item Meghan Markle won’t be able to wear if she gets pregnant

Royal fans are desperate for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to start a family - but we're not exactly jealous of Meghan's future maternity wardrobe...

MOST mums-to-be can't bear the thought of putting on a tight dress and a pair of heels during pregnancy - so spare a thought for the poor royals.

Ever since Meghan Markle married Prince Harry on May 19, Brits have been desperate for the couple to have a baby.

Harry, 33, revealed he and Meghan, 36, would like kids "in the near future" in an interview last year.

But if the new Duchess of Sussex does get pregnant soon, she won't have the luxury of a standard comfy maternity wardrobe.

You may remember that her sister-in-law Kate Middleton, also 36, was still wearing formal gowns and heels on a royal visit to Sweden and Norway in February.

At the time, the mum-of-three was six and a half months pregnant with little Prince Louis, who was born on St George's Day - April 23.

And there's one go-to pregnancy outfit you won't catch the duchesses in, a pair of trackies.

The royals follow a strict formal dress code, and are expected to spruce up even if they're not on royal duties - with a smart casual look being the scruffiest one allowed.

Even then, royal women are encouraged to wear a dress with jacket or cardigan, and men chinos with a collared shirt or blazer.

Etiquette expert Grant Harrold, known as The Royal Butler, previously told the : "Many places will not allow jeans as they are still seen as very casual wear.

"But if the duchess (Kate) is outside walking the dogs for example, then jeans are fine."

The Queen has only been pictured in trousers once during her 66-year reign - in a bid to 'modernise' her look during a royal tour to Canada back in 1970.

Of course, Meghan does love a pair of black trousers - but the leggings she used to wear for yoga sessions haven't been seen since Harry popped the question.

Only time will tell what her pregnancy wardrobe will look like - but don't expect to spy her in trackies anytime soon.

In more Meghan news, these are all the things her future kids WON'T be able to do, from playing Monopoly to wearing trousers.

And this is why the duchess is likely to have twins if she and Harry start a family.
