This is why celebrities carry on wearing their engagement rings after a split

IT'S a symbol of your everlasting love: the engagement ring.
So what do you do when your love comes with a time-stamp?
Well, most women take off their rings. Not so Ant McPartlin's ex, Lisa Armstrong, who was on Wednesday spotted in Los Angeles still wearing the gem he gave her.
That's despite Ant currently dating their former PA Anne-Marie Corbett. But Lisa's not the only one.
Love Island's Caroline Flack has been spotted sporting a sparkler - despite announcing her split from Andrew Brady earlier this month.
Meanwhile Louise Redknapp, no longer with Jamie Redknapp, has also been pictured with her engagement ring intact.
Judi James told the that a refusal to take of a ring was linked to control.
"There are three key motives for this, the first being that in the early days after a painful split the act of taking the ring off can just feel too final," she said.
"It's when the emotional part of the brain can't keep up with the logical part and is in denial even when the split seems final.
"But then with celebs there is the brinkmanship when they take it off and flaunt their empty ring finger in front of the cameras in a bid to frighten their partner into realising this might actually be final."
She continued: "Then when someone keeps putting it on and taking it off, there is often an attempt to exert control when there is none."
She finished: "So it is caused by tragedy and confusion in the early days, and then a rather desperate signal of control when a new relationship is forming."
