This is how many calories are in a Wetherspoon’s breakfast … and it’s pretty mind-blowing
The pub chain reveals its calorie count on their menu and the full English is almost a day's recommended intake

TUCKING into a Wetherspoon’s fry up is a great weekend treat for many a hungry punter.
But anyone who is counting the calories should be warned before they look too closely at the pub chain’s menu.
The pub chain publishes the calorie counts of all its meals on their menu – and the full English is a massive 1515 calories.
That’s without the black pudding – which will add another 246 calories.
The popular breakfast consists of two fried eggs, bacon, two sausages, three hash browns, mushroom, tomato and two slices of toast.
The NHS recommends that women consume 2,000 calories a day and men 2,500 in order to maintain weight.
However for women planning to lose weight, 1,500 calories is recommended - so just one Wetherspoon’s blow out would be the intake for the entire day.
If you don’t supersize your fry up, the smaller version of the traditional breakfast is still 907 calories.
Going veggie hardly dents the intake either – with a large meat-free breakfast coming in at 1418 calories.
Dieters might want to choose the Gluten free version, at 430 calories.
Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “We have added the calories to both our online menu and menu in the pubs for a number of years.
“We believe it is important that our customers have all the relevant information to hand when they choose their meal.
“There is no getting away from the fact that the large breakfast has a high calorie count, however, we trust our customers to make their own choices and often the large breakfast is an occasional treat.”
In comparison, the breakfasts served in Harvester and Beefeater restaurants were just over 1,000 calories but the Little Chef Early Starter came in at an even bigger 2,070.
