Unexpected item in nagging area

This man was clearly being annoying at the supermarket checkout… as he’s been billed a ‘smarta** charge’

The extra 25 cent fee was lumped on to this mouthy customers bill

ONE man clearly rubbed a supermarket employee up the wrong way, after he found a 'smarta** charge' added to his bill.

The extra 25 cent fee was lumped on to this mouthy customers bill, after what can only be assumed was a confrontation at the till.

This picture was posted to image sharing site Imgur by user on Friday, where it was viewed by over 785,000 people.

One commenter even pointed out that the extra charge was taxable - adding insult to injury for the receipt's recipient.

One viewer seemed to take the side of the shop-employee, and anyone who has ever worked in retail will probably be all to familiar with unpleasantness from customers.

He said: "I work at a gas station and I would love to do this, but I don't want to get in trouble."

However, some sceptics were quick to point out that the receipt is unusually vague, with every item listed as miscellaneous.

This led some people doubting how genuine the post was, although they may find themselves in for the extra charge next time they're out shopping.

One person said: "That's the most vague receipt I've ever seen."

And another sceptic replied: "Seriously! No business name. No merchandise. Even the cashier is just 'Clerk'."

This isn't even the first time a vengeful employee has left an unpleasant message for a customer.

Earlier this month, a woman was left humiliated after male staff at Starbucks wrote ‘virgin’ on her takeaway cup instead of her name.

Rosie Anderson, 22, only noticed the inappropriate comment after she had left a South London branch of the coffee shop and now says she’ll never return to Starbucks again.

Baristas asked for her name so the customer could be identified when her strawberry and cream Frappuccino topped with whipped cream was ready.

When she spotted the word, the dental nurse photographed the cup and emailed it to the chain’s customer complaint department.

She said: “I was so angry, they may as well have written ‘troll’ on my cup – that’s how it made me feel."
