GLORIOUS sunshine, a golden sandy beach and the crystal-clear ocean… sounds ideal, right?
Well, not for these poor supermodels who got a rather unexpected surprise while they were trying to pose seductively in barely-there bikinis.
A host of scantily-clad stars headed to the beach to promote 138 Water - dubbed the "first fashion water with added electrolyte" - when nature decided to ruin their racy looks.
Kayla Lewis, a bronzed babe from Los Angeles, was busy showcasing her enviable bod while posing topless on the sand when she got a nasty shock.
The sun-kissed stunner, who donned a neon green thong, got the fright of her life when a giant wave crashed over her and ruined her elegant side-sweep hairdo.
Meanwhile, Amanda Nicole Thomas looked happy and relaxed as she posed in a black lace bikini top and tiny pants.
But the Texan bombshell’s joy didn’t last very long as her svelte frame was engulfed by a massive wave.
American model Anna Sophia Berglund, who has appeared in Playboy, was papped going for a paddle in a bright girly pink two-piece.
The 30-year-old from California had to quickly protect her modesty after a ferocious wave caused her bikini top to fly off and exposed her nipples.
Meanwhile, Michelle Keegan-lookalike Charissa Littlejohn decided to get down and dirty in the sand in her black beachwear.
The Californian star's provocative pose unfortunately lost all of its sass when her knickers started filling up with sand.
Other beach babes who ended up looking more eek than chic included Juliet Ruiz, Yesenia Bustillo and Taylor Hill.
Juliet looked like a ray of sunshine as she posed in an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polkabot bikini - that was until an enormous wave ate her up.
Playboy muse Yesenia turned heads in a see-through bikini, which had a halterneck top and net detailing.
But the brunette lost her composure when she was unexpectedly swept out to sea.
Meanwhile, Taylor was left red-faced while shooting a Victoria's Secret campaign in St Barts.
The American stunner was catching some rays when the wooden deckchair she was sitting on broke - and plunged her into the freezing cold ocean.
Some models can clearly handle surprises better than others.
Caya Hefner, who was married to Playboy mogul Hugh's younger brother Keith, struggled to stifle her giggles as she tripped and fell while walking along the sand.
And, French model Nausicaa laughed raucously as she was sprayed by sea water while on a shoot in Malibu.
