Generous customer leaves waiter a huge $500 tip as a reward for a random act of kindness the day before

A KIND-HEARTED waiter was shocked after one of his customers left him with a huge tip to thank him for a random act of kindness the previous day.
Kasey Simmons was stunned when a customer left an unforgettable tip at the Applebee's restaurant where he works.
The 32-year-old teared up when he saw that the woman settled a bill for just 37 cents by leaving a $500 (£380) tip, alongside a note explaining why she was being so generous.
Stunned Kasey, who lives in Dallas, said his customer had ordered "the cheapest thing on the menu" just to give her an excuse to reward the waiter.
The previous day, Kasey noticed a sad-looking elderly woman walking around his local supermarket.
He stopped what he was doing and spoke to her, and even paid for her shopping in a bid to lift her spirits.
He told CNN: "It was only $17 (£13), but it's not about the money. It's about showing someone you care."
And it only took until the next day for Kasey's good karma to swing back around, when the elderly woman's daughter came in to his workplace and left the incredible tip.
It turned out that the elderly woman was struggling through the third anniversary of her husband's death, and Kasey's random act of kindness had made all the difference.
The daughter's message, which was penned on a napkin and left for Kasey on Tuesday, read: "On one of the most depressing days of the year ... you made my mother's day wonderful.
"You insisted on paying. Told her she is a very beautiful woman. I have not seen this woman smile this much since dad died."
