Remember X Factor’s angriest auditionee Ariel Burdett? Here’s what she looks like now

First of all, she's not a number!

THE X Factor has returned to our screens and it’s inevitable that there will be more bonkers contestants on this year’s series.

Even though some of the hopefuls have been a bit crackers, no one has quite reached the heights of gobby vocalist Ariel Burdett.

From the moment Ariel strolled into the audition room in 2008, with her crazy hair and smoky black eyeshadow, the judges knew she was going to be trouble.

She immediately ripped off her audition number and hurled it towards the judging panel, declaring: “First of all, I’m not a number I’m a human being!”

The tension in the room continued to mount when 26-year-old Ariel insisted she was a “specialist and not a generalist” and worked as a “holistic vocal coach”.

After briefly sparring with Simon Cowell, angry Ariel began to perform what she believed was an “academic construction”.

Sadly, Simon didn’t really take to Ariel’s song, branding the audition a “complete and utter nightmare” and telling the auditionee: “you’re not a very good singer”.

It seems that Ariel pushed it too far when she told the judges to “shove a bit of metal right up their a**”, as she was swiftly escorted out of the studio by a burly security guard.

There’s no doubt that Ariel left a lasting impression on X Factor fans, but eight years on, what is the cranky contestant up to now?

Ariel may have ditched her blonde locks for a shorter pixie cut, but it seems that she’s still chasing the same dream.

On Facebook last month, the X Factor reject shared one of her original songs “laughing down the train”.

Thankfully, Ariel’s music seems to have taken on a lot less angry approach, as her tune sounds a lot more folky and gentle.

Despite her attempts to win over the hearts of the public, it seems that Ariel is still being heckled about her bizarre audition.

One Facebook user joked: “Is she the one who entered X Factor? Hahahaha I can’t believe she is a vocal coach!”

It seems that Ariel has attempted to distance herself from the 2008 confrontation, as she responded: “It was just a character, I wasn’t serious ok!”
