Harry Potty!

Harry saves Buckbeak but not his PARENTS? These are the six biggest Harry Potter plot holes

Warning: These errors might ruin the films for you FOREVER

EVEN the biggest Harry Potter fans might not have noticed these awkward plot-holes.

While JK Rowling’s wizarding world is a magical dreamland, sometimes the plot loses its direction.

From Voldemort’s bizarre time schedule, to getting muddled up with the wands, here are the six biggest errors in Harry Potter...

1. Peter Pettigrew was never detected by the Weasley twins

How did these to mischievous pupils never notice before?

How did these to mischievous pupils never notice before?

In the third book, cheeky duo Fred and George give Harry the Marauder’s Map so he can find secret passages to go to Hogsmeade.

This leads to Harry discovering that one of his parent’s fellow students was hiding in Hogwarts.

But if the double act knew about the map and used it regularly, how did they not know that Scabbers the rat was actually Peter Pettigrew in disguise?

2. Voldemort always attacks at the same time

Why does Voldemort have such a regular attack schedule?

Why does Voldemort have such a regular attack schedule?

If you were an evil villain, you certainly wouldn’t wait until a particular season before you started making your attacks.

Not only does this make Voldemort extremely predictable, it also suggests that the bad wizard cares about Harry’s education.

Why else would he remain quiet through the school year until May-June time?

3. Snape guards the Philosopher’s Stone

Snape's challenge didn't make the final cut of the Philosopher's Stone film

When editing the first film, the producers decided to leave out a pretty crucial part of the book.

Convinced that Snape is evil, Harry questions why he would steal the Philosopher’s Stone if he was one of the professors guarding it.

To get to the stone, the trio bravely battle a number of challenges, including a brutal game of wizard’s chess.

In the book, Snape guards the Philosopher’s Stone with a logic puzzle, but this aspect was missed in the film.

4. Time-turners are illegal

Would Dumbledore REALLY have trusted a young wizard with such a powerful object?

Would Dumbledore REALLY have trusted a young wizard with such a powerful object?

Using time-turners could change the course of history forever, so the plot claims that they’re restricted by the Ministry of Magic.

If this was the case, WHY does Dumbledore allow Hermione to use one of these dangerous objects just to go to more lessons.

Also, when Harry gets his hands on the time-turner, why does he not save his PARENTS instead of Buckbeak?

5. The Elder Wand mystery

How did Harry come to win the wand?

How did Harry come to win the wand?

The allegiance of the Elder Wand changes depending on who wins it in battle.

Draco manages to win the allegiance of the powerful wand after disarming Dumbledore.

But he loses this power after Harry steals a DIFFERENT wand off of him… now that doesn’t make much sense.

6. The Goblet of Fire

All that Triwizard effort seems a little bit pointless

All that Triwizard effort seems a little bit pointless

It seems highly unlikely that the Dark Lord would come up with such an elaborate way of luring Harry to his death.

Taking over the Triwizard Tournament, and banking on the fact that Harry would make it to the end, seems like a pretty big risk.

If you were that evil surely you’d just break into Hogwarts and kill him yourself.

But that sure would make an unexciting book!
