WASPS cemented their place as one of the nation's most hated creatures in tonight's episode of Planet Earth II as one preyed on tadpoles before they'd even hatched.
Thankfully the unborn youngsters were saved by their dad, whose Kung Fu-style moves saw off the pesky insect.
Narrator Sir David Attenborough told how the wasps are attracted to the wriggling tadpoles and feed off the youngest eggs.
But as it went in for the kill, the male glass frog bravely put itself in the way of the stinging insect, defending its vulnerable brood.
Some eagle-eyed viewers also joked it looked like the amphibian 'flicked the bird' at the wasp before kicking it away.
The glass frog, which is no bigger than fingernail and almost entirely transparent, won an army of fans on social media.
A bemused viewer tweeted: "I've seen a frog kick a wasp in the face. My life is complete" while another wrote: "That frog is a hero".
One joked: "#planetearth2 Male frog is a stay at home Dad, that's 2016 for you."
Earlier in the episode viewers' hearts were in their mouths as a jaguar took on a caiman crocodile - and won.
The male big cat pounced on the unsuspecting reptile while it swam along the shoreline of the jungle river.
The episode was quite the emotional roller coaster - with many fans transformed into nervous wrecks when a baby spider monkey almost plunged to its death from a treetop.
The documentary recently came under fire after eagle-eyed fans spotted that avalanche footage was recycled from the original 2006 series.
