A lidl problem

Woman complains to Lidl about a manky courgette she’d just bought… and gets it horribly (but hilariously) wrong

Top tip: Always check you're complaining to the RIGHT person

A DISAPPOINTED shopper attempted to complain about one of their grocery items – but her grievance didn’t quite go to plan.

When a Lidl customer came home with their groceries, they discovered something was wrong with one of the vegetables they purchased.

The angry customer insisted that it wasn't the first time she'd purchased sub-par vegetables

The woman complained that there was pungent smell coming from her courgettes when she began cooking.

Fuming at the prospect of a ruined dinner, the shopper attempted to take the problem up with the supermarket giant.

She said: “I have today bought a corgette from Lidyl in Yeovil and when slicing it found it rotten to the core with a dreadful smell.

“I needed this for tonight and have no chance of returning it as Lidyl in Yeovil is 12 miles from where I live.

"I know it was only 36p but better in my purse than theirs."

It’s not the first time that the grocery buyer experienced troubles with her vegetables, as she also raised the point that she “had to return a Savoy cabbage last year.”

But instead of getting in contact with Lidl, she ended up messaging a cover band in Donegal, Ireland, who go by the name of Lidyl Experience.

After the group received the amusing complaint, they couldn’t resist sharing it on Twitter.

As band-member Liam could see why the woman had cause for complaint, he offered to write her a song to make up for it.

It didn’t take long for the funny blunder to make its way across social media, sparking a response from the real Lidl.

A spokesperson said: "We were very sorry to hear of this incident and would like to urge the customer to contact us via our online contact form or on 0370 444 1234.

"We would like to reassure customers that this is an isolated incident and that we have thorough procedures in place to ensure that our products are of the highest quality."
