Four cheap Easter activities that are fun for the whole family to try

GET cracking today with some cheap and cheerful egg- decorating activities.
From coloured and glitter eggshells to crazy cress heads, these ideas are fun for the whole family to try.
MARBLED MARVELS: This is a messy, squishy and easy way for younger children to create coloured eggs.
Roll hardboiled eggs in a dish of shaving foam mixed with drops of two different shades of food colouring.
Wipe the excess foam off the finished shell and wait for it to dry.
ALL THAT GLITTERS: Many decorating ideas need the egg to be hollow, so that bit is best done carefully by adults.

PAPER MAKER: Decorate blown egg shells or papier-mâché eggs, £3 from Hobbycraft, with pretty papers.
Use watered-down PVA glue to stick on scraps of paper, such as napkins, wrapping paper or old photos.
Stick them on until the shell is covered, add another layer of glue and leave to dry.
HEADS UP: Cress heads are a fun way to use up empty egg shells.
Carefully wash out the shells and then give them faces using pens or paint.
Dip some cotton wool balls in water, squeeze them out, then place them inside each shell.
Sprinkle a teaspoon of cress seeds on each.
Leave on a windowsill and spray with a little water.
Your crazy cress hair will start growing within a week.
Harvest for salads and egg and cress sandwiches.
