A DISCOUNT expert has revealed the little-known button on your mobile phone that can help you get a massive discount on designer dupes.

And, best of all, the trick is free to use and anyone can access it.

Jordon Cox, known as the Coupon Kid, revealed his trick on his Instagram page (couponkiduk), where he has 232,000 followers.

His latest tip can help shoppers find dupes of their favourite designer styles that won't break the bank.

In the video, the money expert showed how he used the Google Lens button while out shopping.

People actually tend to use it mainly to translate languages and identify plant species, but Jordon showed how he used it to save money while shopping.

He searches for designer items he likes to find alternatives that are hundreds of pounds cheaper.

Using the search engine you snap a pic of the item and it searches the web for similar looking products.

He said: "If you’re looking through designer brands, and see a style you like, use the Google app to search the web for it.

"It’ll come back with the same or similar looking items, that may actually be cheaper elsewhere!

"A Tommy Hilfiger shirt I liked worth £100, had a doppelgänger at H&M for £20… much better value!

"I’m fully aware quality of items may be very different, but if you’re not worried about that, and just like the style of something - this is a great way to save money!"

As well as the checked Tommy Hilfiger shirt, Jordan also found a pair of boots for £23 at Boohoo that were similar to a John Lewis pair costing £200.

Jordan's trick is a great way to check prices and make sure you're not overpaying for items.

Simply download the Google app, point your phone camera at the product and the search engine will bring up similar items listed on Google Shopping.

To use the feature all you need to do is download the Google Chrome app from your phone's app store.

Open up a new tab and along the search bar will be a camera icon.

Simply click on the icon and snap a photo of whatever you're looking at - then the search engine will track down similar items.

You can also upload photos and screenshots and let Google work it's magic.

From there you can see how much something might be selling for on sites.

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use  and  are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone.  app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.

You can also search for items on the Google Shopping app or use websites such as trolley.co.uk to find deals.
