This is how your kids can eat for free this summer in Morrisons’ in-store cafe
MORRISONS is giving away free meals for kids to help cash-strapped parents deal with the cost of summer holidays.
Parents buying an adult hot meal over £4 or breakfast over £3.50 at any of Morrisons' 400 cafés will receive one free meal for their child.
The offer – which was previously only available from 3pm – will now run all day throughout the summer.
The free meal must be purchased from the customer Café kids menu - which includes dishes such as a cheeseburger, fish fingers or pizza and includes a piece of fruit and a drink.
Morrisons’ offer comes as the supermarket is also introducing a guide to "small talk" with kids designed by Dr Amanda Gummer, an expert in child development, play and parenting.
The guide is designed to give families inspiration for conversation starters to help parents engage with their children.
Anna Lane, head of customer experience for Morrisons, said some parents are looking for help feeding and engaging their kids in the school holidays.
“We hope that Dr Gummer’s questions for kids will help parents create exciting conversations and we hope that our free meals will take the strain off the family budget in August,” she added.
Recent research has revealed that some holidays are nine time more expensive when schools are off when compared to term time.
Now there are growing calls for the government to intervene and force tour operators to lower their proces during the holidays so less children are taken out of school during term time.
