Lidl and Aldi spark Bake Off war with its cut price copycat mixers – but which is best?

Lidl has sparked a price war after it launched a Great British Bake Off-inspired baking range, which includes a stand mixer at just £49.99.
The baking programme has moved to Channel 4 but has kept fans content by sticking to the same format.
The newly launched kitchen appliance, which had a 5L capacity and a 7 speed settings, goes on sale on September 17 across Lidl stores.
At £49 Lidl’s stand mixer looks suspiciously similar to the one from rival Aldi, which launched its own baking range last week - but £15 cheaper.
It is also more than eight times cheaper than the classic model from high-end brand on the retailer's website.
It's worth noting that you can get the luxury product .
Other items in Lidl’s range include a 4-in-1 glass cake stand at £11.99 as well as a set of ten food storage containers for less than £5.
Wannabe bakers can also get their hand on a retro Ernesto cake tin set of for less than £5 and baking mould accessories available in a range of colours for £2.49.
Meanwhile, Aldi’s new range aimed at fans of the show is already available in stores and online across the UK since August 27.
As always, you should shop around and do your research before buying one of these items.
BAKING HOT Who was Bake Off Star Baker on Cake Week and who went home from The Great British Bake Off 2017?
It's not the first time the budget stores launched a war over pricing.
In July Lidl went head-to-head with Aldi, offering a full school uniform for just £3.75.
The launch of the new range prompted Aldi to cut the price of its school uniform package from £5 to £3.75.
But the budget supermarkets might not always be the cheapest options to hunt for bargains.
Asda hit headlines last month for hiking the price of their bananas to 76p a kilo, overtaking Waitrose as the priciest supermarket.
And Sun Online research found that Poundland is more expensive than Waitrose in some price comparisons, while Aldi charges more than Ocado.
The first episode of GBBO aired this week and Steven was named Star Baker.
The 34-year-old wowed the judges with his impressive sponge cake inspired by bonfire night and received the first handshake from Paul Hollywood.
You can watch The Great British Bake Off on Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
