Iceland is selling a bumper box of 100 Jaffa cakes for just £4

A standard box of McVitie’s snack now contains just 10 rather than 12 cakes

THERE is finally some good news for Jaffa cake lovers.

Last month, we exclusively revealed that McVitie's has shrunk the number of biscuits in a standard size packet from 12 biscuits to 10.

A standard box now contains 122g instead of 146.4g.

To add insult to injury some supermarkets also failed to drop the price to match the smaller packaging - despite the fact that McVitie's recommended the cost to be reduced from £1.15 to 99p.

But Iceland now launched an offer that will please biscuit lovers across the UK.

The frozen food retailer is selling a bumper box of 100 Jaffa Cakes for just £4 - or just 4p per biscuit.

We first spotted the offer on the Facebook group - Extreme Couponing and Bargain UK where it was shared nearly 2,000 among Jaffa cake fans.

It is unclear if the offer is permanent or a one-time only deal, but the Sun Online has reached out to the supermarket to find out more.

Meanwhile, Nestle this week created giant 150g tubes of orange-only Smarties (compared to the normal 38g) due to high demand from shoppers.

They cost £1.38 each and are available from Asda, but they are expected to sell out quickly.
