Lidl recalls snacks due to allergy fears because labelling isn’t in ENGLISH
Lidl has pulled a three nut-based snacking packets from shelves because the labelling doesn't make it clear what type of nuts they contain

BUDGET supermarket Lidl has issued a recall on three of its snack sized packets of nuts because they pose a potential risk to people with nut allergies or a sensitivity to sulphites.
Because the label isn't written in English, people who suffer from the allergies may accidentally eat them without knowing they could cause them harm.
The three snacks that have been recalled are the Alesto Summertime Strawberry & Nut (Seriously Berry), Alesto Crunchy Seed & Nut and the Alesto Golden Fruit & Nut.
The some of the snacks contain cashew nuts, almonds, hazelnuts and sulphur dioxide.
Nut allergies are triggered by tree nuts and can cause sickness and vomiting, and in extreme cases cause the mouth to swell leaving the person struggling to breathe.
Sulphites, like sulphur dioxide can trigger allergy-like symptoms for people who suffer with asthma and allergic rhinitis.
Sulphites are used in some foods as a preservative to make them last longer and can cause health problems for people who are allergic to them.
A reaction to the sulphites could be anything from mild to life-threatening.

If you have bought a packet at home and suffer from one of the above allergies, Lidl advise that you don't eat it and return it to your nearest store in exchange for a full refund.
According to the recall notice, no other Lidl Alesto Snacking pockets products are known to be affected.
Lidl rival Aldi has also had to recall packets of Clancy’s Barbecue Flavour Coated Peanuts over fears they could be a potential health risk for anyone with an allergy to cashew nuts.
