The pack of 10 vegetable spring rolls are a potential danger to anyone with an allergy to prawns and you should return them stores for a full refund

This means that they could be a potential risk to anyone who is allergic to prawns.

The packets of food that are affected are the Sainsbury's 10 Vegetable Spring Roll Selection 210g that have a use by date of between November 30 until December 8 2017.

Even though the labels declare that the veggie spring rolls contain "traces of shellfish" the supermarket giant is recalling the food as a "precaution".

Seafood allergies are one of the most common allergies in adults, according to .

People who are allergic to prawns also show an intolerance to fish and other crustaceans like mussels and crab.

If someone who has a seafood intolerance comes into contact with prawns, it can cause them to break out in hives, vomiting, nausea and diarrhoea.

In extreme cases it can cause the person to have difficulty breathing and swallowing.

A spokesperson for Sainsbury's told the Sun Online: "Some of our Vegetable Spring Roll Select 210g packs have been incorrectly labelled and contain prawn.

"The label on the product explains it may contain traces of shellfish but, as a precaution, we’re recalling this product.

"Customers will receive for a full refund in store. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause."

The supermarket assures customers that none of their other spring rolls have been affected by the mix up, including their range of frozen spring rolls.

If you do find that you have a pack of the contaminated spring rolls, you can return them to any Sainbury's in exchange for a full refund.

Recently, Birds Eye found themselves in a similar position after boxes of its 4xShortcrust Chicken Pies were found to be filled with steak pies.

Shoppers who have bought the product are being urged to return it immediately for a full refund.
